Teacher – Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens
The Kindergarten is situated within the area of Durie Hill. It draws from the wider Whanganui community, with the majority of the children going on to attend Durie Hill School.
The Kindergarten has a generous outdoor environment with easy indoor-outdoor flow and beautiful established gardens. There is also access to Polson Park Reserve through the back gate and iconic Durie Hill Tower is within walking distance.
The Kindergarten has a strong focus on active movement as part of the curriculum. They are currently exploring building on their localised curriculum. The Kindergarten makes regular visits to Durie Hill to support transition to school.
Durie Hill is licensed for 30 children and is a full year service. You will join a team of 3 other teachers. This is a 0.7 (28 hours per week) over five days worked as follows:
Monday (7 hours) 8am to 3.30pm
Tuesday (8 hours) 8am to 4.30pm
Wednesday (4.5 hours) 12 to 4.30pm
Thurs (5 hours) 8am to 1.30pm
Friday (3.5 hours) 12 to 3.30pm
