Interested in Online Teaching?

Do akonga thrive and learn from your teaching?

Are you interested in supporting secondary ākonga whose world is affected by Covid?

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position:

Due to COVID-19 disruptions to secondary schools, MOE has provided additional funding for Te Kura to support new dual enrolments (ākonga are currently enrolled in schools and need our help with subjects) until the end of term 4, 2021. We need your help to support these ākonga and are seeking secondary Kaiako across all subject areas. You'll teach online so can live almost anywhere, and we are flexible with hours of work (full or part time) and you must be confidentially able to work on line. So please contact us to learn more.

Ko wai mātou | About Us

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school and at any one point we have over 12,000 students.

Our vision is for our ākonga to achieve their educational and personal goals, enabling them to participate effectively as members of their communities. That means putting our ākonga at the centre of their learning by providing a flexible, personalised approach, so that they can choose when and where they learn. This means we support akonga, Ki te tī, ki te tā, ki te katoa – Anytime, anywhere, anyone.

Ko koe tēnei | About you:

We invite applications from NZ registered teachers with a current practising certificate, and who keen to work in these roles. Learning is delivered 100% online so you will need to be tech savvy. We'll make sure you understand our systems and are supported during your time with us. Remote working arrangements may be available.

You'll be a creative, collaborative, innovative secondary kaiako and are committed to improving education outcomes for ākonga, while thriving in an online environment.
