Focused on excellence, the successful applicant will be able to inspire others through their leadership style and their collaborative work with the Principal, leadership team, staff, parents and the wider school community to enhance student achievement. They will display a passion for student's learning and possess an in-depth knowledge of the NZ Curriculum.
We are looking for a team player who will add to our fantastic staff while developing leadership and improving student outcomes across the school. Strengths in restorative practice and schoolwide organisation would be of advantage.
While this position does not involve responsibility for a class, a teaching component may be negotiated. We are keen to co-construct this aspect of the position with the successful applicant and value any new ideas or initiatives as to how we can structure the position within the current school organisation.
In addition, the deputy principal will also undertake the following key tasks:
Provide in conjunction with the principal and other senior leadership staff, appropriate professional and curriculum leadership which is supportive of the school’s strategic plan, general directions and policies
Lead or be involved in the SENCO, pastoral care and learning support programmes
Be a welcoming point of contact for our school community
To take responsibility for implementing, monitoring and reporting on the school behaviour plan
In conjunction with the principal employ, appraise and take a pastoral care role for all teacher aides, timetabling their activities to meet the needs of the students.
