We are seeking a boarding housemaster who is a dynamic, talented, visionary educator with a commitment to excellence. This is an full-time, ongoing position undertaken in addition to specialist teaching and other college duties and its quality outcomes are critical to the successful delivery of the college mission: Each boy at his best. The successful candidate will transition to College’s residential accommodation in the term 4–1 holidays and begin in the role at the beginning of term 1 i.e. Friday 28 January 2022.
The boarding housemaster is pivotal to the school’s pastoral programme, a key member of our residential community and is responsible for all aspects of house culture, tone and experience for students, parents and staff, creating a positive and supportive 'home-away-from-home' for the boys.
The ideal candidate should be a proven teacher of quality, have clear leadership ability, excellent communication skills, a 'can-do' attitude and a professional approach in all that they do. They will be able to relate to many different people, and have empathy and sensitivity to all. They must be prepared to contribute to co-curricular activities of the school and the weekend boarding programme.
Affiliated with the Anglican Church of New Zealand, we are one of the leading independent boys' schools in New Zealand, with strong academic, sports, service and cultural programmes and a wide range of co-curricular activities. We are a school where boys thrive.
We offer excellent working conditions in an attractive environment. Remuneration is above state levels, (as is the KiwiSaver employer contribution), reflecting working in an independent school.
