Through promotion to principalship and expansion, we seek two future-focused leaders to join our team. Applicants will need to have an in-depth knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum as well as of current research into best practice for teaching, learning and assessment, and pastoral care leading to success for all learners.
One role relates to teaching and learning, and has a curriculum design focus that involves leading staff to embrace the school’s curriculum goals. These include providing learning that gives learners choice and agency while enabling growth in skills and discipline-specific knowledge. A clear focus on student engagement and achievement. The strategic focus of this DP role is to work collaboratively with other SLT colleagues and provide leadership to the school’s Teaching and Learning Team.
The second role is focused on supporting and developing our pastoral staff, as well as overseeing Puwāha - our Māori achievement team. This DP will be a key member of the student support team and develop staff capability to support student progress and development in both an academic and pastoral context.
All members of the SLT have pastoral oversight, and other leadership and administrative responsibilities. These are flexibly shared and altered within the team through annual review and discussion and allocated to achieve a fair workload across the team to suit team members’ strengths and interests.
A strong commitment to culturally responsive and relational teaching approaches is essential.
We look forward to engaging with energetic, passionate, innovative educators who are able to work with our staff to design great teaching and learning opportunities for staff and students.
