We seek a fixed-term, part-time fully registered teacher to teach Y7–8 in rumaki reo Māori. This is a fixed-term position to support a special project around planning, assessment and moderation which are a focus area for 2021.
Classroom planning and teaching will be expected Thursday and Friday weekly. However the successful applicant will be onsite from Tuesday. With an additional management unit in planning, assessment and moderation for negotiation.
The kura adheres to Te Marautanga ā-kura o Te Teko and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa as planning contexts for our students, also as teaching and learning guidelines for them. We follow tikanga of Ngāti Awa ki Rangitaiki iwi in all student learning contexts, so they may be confident in tribal guideline, 'Tauaki te tū, Taiki te rere, Ōkōrero kia mau'.
Applicants should be able to complete all necessary paperwork such as planning, individual education plans and also be able to use various digital platforms utilised by teaching staff. The overriding premise of the kura is to work collaboratively to ensure each student learns. It is also expected throughout staff that collective effort ensures the saying, 'it takes a village to raise a child'.
Although the kura has two units – one being rumaki reo Māori and the other auraki reo Pākehā, there remains a united pursuit toward the future that will ensure student achievement is accelerated in preparation for the world beyond.
