Whakātane High School is a co-educational school with approximately 1100 students in the beautiful Eastern Bay of Plenty. The school is proud of its history and success and is well respected within the community. 

This is an opportunity to join a department with a strong connection to local iwi. Successful applicants will need to be highly relational in their practices, committed to Te Aka Matua and kapa haka. Successful applicants will be required to teach from Y9 to Scholarship level in te reo Māori, as well as teaching in other areas in the school.

The successful applicant will need to be highly relational, culturally responsive and have experience in developing improved outcomes for Māori students.

Applications are invited for the full-time, permanent position of teacher of te reo Māori. The position commences term 1, 2022.
