Playcentre Aotearoa are seeking an education lead to oversee and lead the Playcentre Education team and programme. Playcentre Education currently offers the Level 4 NZ Certificate in Early Childhood Education and Care to parents and caregivers of tamariki enrolled in Playcentre sessions. This role involves ensuring the academic integrity of the qualification as well creating and maintaining systems to ensure a high quality programme and ākonga (student) experience.
Place of work
Based at the National Service Centre (Mana), a Regional Office or from home with occasional travel to the NSC or Regional Office as required.
Term and hours
Permanent position. Approximately 32 hours per week, hours negotiable.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of pedagogy in early learning within a NZ context, as well as significant adult teaching experience within the ECE sector. A qualification in adult education as well experience in facilitation, assessment, programme review and/or moderation is essential, as is a Level 5+ ECE qualification (Level 7+ preferred.) Fluency in or willingness to work towards fluency in te reo Māori is a must.
