We are a privately owned and well established small whānau centre. Teamwork, kindness, fun, and thoughtfulness are embedded in our culture. We provide a friendly and supportive working environment where each kaiako is highly valued, respected and their well-being is our priority. Responsive relationships play a huge part of who we are. We pride ourselves on relationships that are built on trust, respect, and open communication with our tamariki, whānau and each other. Our excellent teacher to child ratios opens up a world of wonderous opportunities for tamariki to explore, learn, discover, and develop agency over their own learning.
Our centre caters for 35 tamariki: 9 tamariki up to 2 years old and 26 tamariki 2–5-years-old. We have a rare and exciting opportunity in the O2s area, for a full-time qualified and registered teacher to join our Lilliput whānau.
We are looking for a loving, calm, kind, and enthusiastic kaiako who has true passion and energy for teaching and caring, so all our tamariki can flourish as they explore, learn and play at their own pace. The kaiako must be confident and passionate about providing a high standard of teaching and care, by supporting our tamariki responsively and compassionately. The kaiako needs to be able to use their initiative, be confident to maintain an environment which builds respectful relationships with our tamariki, whānau, and kaiako, have a sound knowledge of Te Whāriki and current research, who is committed to on-going development, and is a team player.
The kaiako we are looking for will have:
A NZ recognised teacher qualification, current ECE teaching registration and a current first aid certificate
Proficient communication skills
Ability and flare to write learning stories, and use these to plan and promote children's holistic development
Flexibility to work within our operating hours of 7.30am–5.30pm.
