We are looking for a dynamic and motivated teacher to join our Rūmaki Reo team, Mōkai Āwhina, teaching a class of Y5–8 students. This position is fixed-term commencing Monday 6 September and ending on 15 December 2021.

Students in Mōkai Āwhina are fully immersed in te reo Māori and learning in English is introduced from Y5. Our goal is that by the end of Y8 students will be bilingual and biliterate in both Māori and English. Fluency in te reo Māori is essential for this position.

We are a well-resourced school currently focusing on language development and integrating Assessment for Learning pedagogy across the curriculum. Our ideal applicant would be familiar with Te Marautanga o Aotearoa, have good communication skills, ability to form reciprocal, learning focused relationships with students and whānau, and be willing to continue to learn and plan collaboratively with colleagues.

Our school is part of the Kaahui Ako o Manurewa and welcomes teachers who are excited to collaborate across our schools to achieve success for all our learners.
