An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and innovative kaiako/teacher who has an understanding of Pasifika culture and an understanding of the Samoan language to join our team. 

Please state specialist subjects and co-curricular passions.

The Haeata Board has approved discretionary funding from its operational grant to employ a kaiako/teacher above the maximum MoE funded staffing entitlement for the provision of equity for Pasefika education.

The successful applicant must be biliterate and passionate about promoting bilingual education and promoting fa’a Samoa in our vibrant modern learning environment here in the East of Christchurch.

This may be a Kaiarahi or team leader position for a suitable applicant. 

Tenure flexibility – full-time permanent, permanent part-time, fixed-term. 

Applicants must be:

  • Fluent in Samoan and English
  • Experienced with NZ Curriculum
  • Experienced with and commitment to Gaga Samoa 
  • Confidently connected to the Pasefika community in AotearoaNew Zealand.

Applicant to start Term 3, 2021 or by negotiation. 

The applicant will have familiarity with the New Zealand Curriculum, NCEA and the skills to use ICT to enhance learning outcomes.
