We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic session Facilitator to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Communities for 2 sessions per week at Shannon and Districts and 1 session per week at Milson Playcentre. You will work alongside our duty teams to guide session activities, facilitate learning using child led play and positive guidance and support the writing of learning stories.

Location: Shannon Playcentre is located at 49 Grey St, Shannon 4821 and Milson Playcentre is located at 1a Seaforth Ave, Milson, Palmerston North, 4413

Hours:

Milson Playcentre: 9am–1pm - Wednesday morning only (4 hours per week).

Shannon Playcentre: 9.15am–1.15pm – Thursday and Friday mornings (8 hours per week).             

Start date: term 3 Wednesday 28 July 2021.

Skills and experience required:

Hold a Level 4 Playcentre qualification or higher, or equivalent ECE qualification

  • A passion for Playcentre and its philosophy
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience at Centre level
  • Have knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Te Whāriki.
