Then we have the position for you.

We are excited to be able to offer this position to a highly motivated kaiako.  This position has become available to due our kaiako sadly moving back overseas home.

We are a rurally based centre that incorporates animals into our learning curriculum. Licensed for 100 tamariki in 4 separate classrooms.

You will be leading your own team in our 3 year old classroom, plus supporting your head teacher and the rest of the Little Farm Kaiako.  

Our successful and inspiring kaiako will possess the following qualities:

  • Hold an ECE teacher's certification and full registration with the Teaching Council of NZ
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to form strong relationships with Kaiako, tamariki and whānau
  • Be committed to ongoing personal and professional development.

We offer paid hours of attendance for of PLD and course costs. We offer extended sick leave allowances. Free childcare if applicable.

We offer a supportive mentor and guidance programme as well as a supportive professional growth cycle for fully certified kaiako.

Applicants must be able to:

  • Work within a team and be a team player
  • Have fun and have a sense of humour
  • Be flexible 
  • Have good time management skills
  • Good work ethic
  • To work a mix of shifts through the week between the hours of 7am-6pm
  • Be willing to learn and try out new ideas when they are presented to your team
  • Be familiar with Te Whāriki, using this in your everyday practice and learning stories
  • Be confidant/willing to upskill with observing, and planning for tamariki
  • Be confidant with animals or the willingness to learn and be involved in their care.
