The Upper Hutt Schools Cluster is now seeking applications for an LSC position that has become vacant.
It is intended that the person appointed to this position will be allocated to work at Heretaunga College.
LSCs may also be asked to use any unique skills they bring to the role to support schools across the cluster.
The point of difference for the Upper Hutt learning support coordinators is that they are a team of highly proficient, experienced professionals working collaboratively with each other to assist the Upper Hutt Cluster of schools in achieving their common strategic purpose of strengthening capability.
The appointee will be a registered teacher and have:
Demonstrated successful experience in working with and including children and young people with learning support needs in the classroom
A sound knowledge, commitment to, and understanding of the learning support system and the learning support action plan priorities
The ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, teacher aides, whanau and external agencies including RTLB to support the learning journey of students in ways that recognise their identity, language and culture
The ability to form effective collaborative relationships with other LSCs and with SENCO and senior staff within individual schools
The ability to lead or influence skill development with staff within a school or kura and the wider cluster
A commitment to te ao Māori
A current teaching practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification
