The Early Intervention Support (EIS) is a dedicated part-time teaching role within MBS working alongside the principal, deputy principal and senior management.
Have a passion for working with young learners and a desire to bridge the gap between ECE and primary settings
Work alongside the Hub Team (Y0/1) to support, assess and track students through a ‘Ready to Learn’ framework which specifically develops key motor, social, language and developmental skills required to be ready to access the NZ Curriculum
Work to build early Intervention capability of kaiako/teachers, and to help identify and plan for the needs of children
Adhere to the MBS Staff Professional Core Values and attend team meetings to share data and plan the next steps for staff and learners at MBS
Practice positive behaviour for learning strategies
Have the ability to adapt to challenging situations and behaviours;
Preferrably have an understanding of the concepts of occupational therapy and knowledge of Te Whāriki (Early Childhood Curriculum).
Work alongside and support our teacher aides within the hub and extended areas.
