Commencing in term 3, 2021, this role involves supporting students with significant mental health conditions that require in-patient support at one of the regional or national in-patient services based at Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua. We aim for students to re-engage with learning and provide an educational context supporting students’ therapeutic plans.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled teacher committed to professionalism and team work. Ongoing collaboration with clinical teams and colleagues in the community is a key component of the job.
The successful teacher will be planning and delivering programmes of work across a wide range of levels and subjects to support the complex educational needs of our students (usually Y9–13). Proven teaching experience at secondary level is desirable. However, due to the diverse needs of our students, we encourage experienced teachers from both primary and secondary backgrounds to apply. Collaboration, excellent communication and flexibility are key to the success of our work in this setting.
Applicants must be experienced NZ registered teachers with a current practising certificate. In addition to salary, teachers also receive a regional health school teacher unit and special duties allowance.
