Commencing in term 3, 2021, this role involves supporting students with health (including mental health) conditions that are preventing them from attending school on a regular basis. We aim for students to maintain their regular educational programmes as far as possible and to transition back to school. The team is based in central Wellington and daily travel to students’ homes, local schools, health settings and other venues around Wellington City is a key component of the job.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled teacher committed to professionalism and team work. This teacher will be planning and delivering programmes of work across a wide range of levels and subjects to support the diverse educational needs of our students. Proven experience, teaching in both the primary and secondary sectors is desirable and we encourage both primary and secondary trained teachers to apply. The nature of this teaching role also involves close liaison with families, schools, health specialists and agencies. Collaboration, excellent communication and flexibility are key to the success of our work in this setting.
Applicants must be experienced NZ registered teachers with a current practising certificate.
A current full, clean NZ driver licence is required. A private vehicle is required for work travel.
