Passionate about child-lead investigations, exploring nature and art? Apply here!

Daisies has a strong focus on learning for all, including our kaiako. Three times each year we run in-house wananga lead by a combination of our directors, head teachers, education leaders alongside external experts. Our team has a good mix of teachers who all bring ideas and passion to our teaching and learning environment. We are looking for a teacher with some experience to fill this vacancy, preferably fully registered.

We are looking for a Kaiako for "Te Pihinga" house.  Te Pihinga means a young plant, and our tamariki range in age from around 2½ years to 5 years.  Most children at Te Pihinga are initially enrolled next door at Te Purapura and transition across to Te Pihinga sometime before their third birthday.  So if you have a passion for teaching older toddlers who are blossoming into pre-schoolers then this is the role for you.

Further information about Daisies can be found on our website or on our Facebook page. Daisies was created over 12 years ago with a vision of intentionally applying best practice in ECE – drawn from research and observations from Dr Anne Meade and Rachel Denee, our lead pedagogistas - and inspiring others to do the same.  In 2019 we opened our second centre Te Pihinga which has enabled us to create two distinctive houses with a stronger focus on each age-group.  There remains significant interaction between the houses, with a number of teachers having worked in both.  We are active participants in the Reggio Emilia Aotearoa community of practice, and we also have a strong interest in RIE/Pikler philosophies.

We are particularly keen on applications from teachers who have known about us and have been looking out for an opportunity to work at Daisies.
