You are a good teacher, wanting to work in a fun, respectful and meaningful environment, where you feel valued and celebrated and you know that what you do matters, to the students, to yourself and to the community.

You are warm and engaging and enjoy working alongside adolescents.

You have something to offer a small community that celebrates diversity – learning styles, genders and orientations, races, abilities and values.

This position is expected to grow into full-time.

You are expected to be familiar with Montessori education and to have read the Peace Experiment website. Further training will be provided, with the expectation of continued study. The school is based on education for peace. The United Nations SDG are central to our delivery.

Primary, secondary or tertiary educators can be considered, also suitable for recently trained graduates. NCEA knowledge is useful – please list subjects in covering letter.

The role is diverse, and involves engaging with students individually or in small groups to support their learning. There is no mass instruction, no mass marking, no planning or administrivia.

Staff members work alongside students following their needs. There is a pastoral care element in everything that we do. Staff are respectful, calm, and encouraging. Every day is different and rewarding.

Work hours are flexible, between 8am and 5pm negotiated amongst other staff.

Applicants must come to see the school, and meet with the principal before submitting application.
