With a role of approximately 700 students, we are a vibrant and successful coeducational secondary school in Levin, located an hour north of Wellington. The school’s inclusive culture and progressive, future focused curriculum offers students and staff a range of unique learning opportunities. We encourage applicants to learn more about our curriculum by visiting www.waiopehu.ac.nz/Waiopehu-College-Curriculum.
Levin has a great central location! Located in the lower North Island (95km north of the capital city Wellington), Levin is a 5–10 minute drive to beaches, a lake and walking tracks in the Tararua Ranges – a great spot for those who love being outdoors. Levin has a population of 20,000 (with high growth predicted over the next 10 years) and has all the amenities you could ever need. The neighbouring Kapiti Coast is also a favourite destination for many with its beaches, cafes and attractive lifestyle options.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within our well-resourced home economics department. We are seeking an innovative, passionate and highly creative teacher of home economics and life skills. Some understanding of how students might transition from college into the world of work would be an advantage, and there will also be the opportunity to tailor our elective programme to suit your own strengths and passions.
Position to commence on Tuesday 8 June or by negotiation.
