Applications are invited for the part-time SENCO position in our High School commencing 14 June 2021. 

We are looking for a SENCO to work with a range of students with identified learning needs within our High School, including some ORS students. Communicating actively with families, developing partnerships with external agencies and working with teachers and teacher aides to adapt all areas of the curriculum are some of the key features of the position. 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong knowledge of diverse learning needs, an ability to work collaboratively, and actively participate in bi-cultural Aotearoa/New Zealand.

There may be scope for this position to be extended to full-time depending on other teaching skills. 

Taikura is a special character area school founded in 1950 and was the first Rudolf Steiner School to be established in New Zealand. We are located in the heart of Hastings, Hawke's Bay.

We have a roll of around 420 students from kindergarten through to Y13.
