Applications are invited for the full-time, permanent position of special educational needs coordinator (SENCO). Commencing as soon as possible in term 2.
This is an opportunity for a future-focused and responsive leader to work with an experienced department consisting of a teacher of learning support and nine teacher aides.
We are looking for an experienced SENCO to work with a range of children with identified learning needs within our school, including some ORS students. Communicating actively with families, developing partnerships with external agencies and working with teachers to adapt all areas of the curriculum are some of the key features of the position.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge of diverse learning needs as well as an ability to work collaboratively.
Successful applicants will need to actively participate in bi-cultural New Zealand and be highly relational in their practices.
