Early childhood head teacher/teacher
Our client is a faith based childcare centre, respected for its long-established reputation of family and Christian Values, along with a strong staff retention, a reflection of its caring and holistic culture.
It prides itself on the repeat business from families of several generations along with a strong network of referrals.
Equally they seek some-one who resonates with the culture of this centre, its values and the families.
The ages of the children range from 2 to 5 years old.
The hours between 7am–6pm and staggered to suit, but it is based on a 40-hour week.
There is the odd evening where you would be required to attend a meeting/learning activity with parents.
Located in the heart of Mt. Eden and within in easy access to public transport, the role will report to the centre manager.
The ideal applicant will be a suitably qualified senior teacher or with a minimum of 8 years’ early childhood learning experience with references to match.
All applicants must be locally experienced displaying strong leadership skills and the ability to facilitate a nurturing and safe learning environment.
You will actively participate and contribute within the teaching team in developing programmes, which reflect the Treaty of Waitangi Principles.
Be an active team player in programme planning, evaluation and assessment processes in line with Te Whāriki and Reggio philosophy, as discussed within the teaching team.
All applicants must:
- Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of social and cultural influences on learning by working effectively in the bicultural and multicultural contexts of learning in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Council of NZ
- Have a Graduate Diploma/Bachelors in ECE.
