We are looking for a kaiako to join over 2 room (either in training, provisionally qualified, fully registered).
Does your practice align with tikanga values located within Te Ao Maaori, such as whanaguatanga, maanakitanga and kaitiakitanga?
Are you interested in working in a centre where genuine, respectful partnerships between adult and child are upheld? Does the thought of a philosophy in which children follow the rhythms of their body to guide their day make your heart sing?
Does a natural environment where children and kaiako walk alongside one another bare foot in the grass feel like a space you envision working in?
Where kitchen gardens and fruit trees are in abundance and grassy hills are aplenty? Where there are places to hide and nestle into the earth? Where loose part and natural resources are intentionally chosen with the creativity and imagination of the child at the heart? Where there is ample opportunity to get muddy, swing from trees and connect with a unique, rich landscape?
Old MacDonalds brings to life a learning space where tamariki are immersed in flora and fauna, where deep and meaningful conversations are the accepted form of communication, where the heart and spirit of Te Whāriki are upheld in our adapted curriculum, where social competence and the spirit of the child is central to what we do.
We recognise tamariki as the drivers, choosers and planners of their own learning and their own lives. As kaiako, who live and breathe our philosophy, our hearts sing as we afford our tamariki the space and time to take their place as the champions of their own story. We believe in a creating a learning environment where tamariki, kaiako and whānau work in partnership and journey together as we nurture children on their path as a life-long learner.
