Head teacher

Dunedin Hospital Early Childhood Centre is a not for profit charitable organisation. We are seeking a head teacher to lead our highly competent team in the Pepe and Pakupaku infant and toddler rooms. The successful applicant will work alongside the assistant head teacher and the centre manager. 

Dunedin Hospital Early Childhood Centre is party to the Early Childhood Education Collective agreement. 

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualities:

• Experience teaching infants and toddlers
• Knowledge of Early Childhood Education Licensing Criteria and health and safety standards
• The ability to uphold the Code of Professional Responsibility and Standards for the Teaching Profession
• To support teachers to implement, plan and evaluate for children
• Competent IT skills, in particular student management systems
• A high level of professionalism, transparency and communication skills
• Lead and mentor a large team of teachers.

All applicants must hold a NZ recognised ECE qualification and current certification.
