We are seeking an inspired educator to lead the learning support department for the college, Y7–13. This is a full-time, permanent appointment to commence in time for the start of term 2, 3 May 2021, or later by agreement.

Scots College is a co-educational IB World School in the Eastern suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand and is comprised of three schools in one; Preparatory (Y1–6), Middle (Y7–10) and Senior (Y11–13). We offer a vibrant learning environment for our students and recognise that working in groups, thinking critically and solving problems are just as important as the knowledge we give them. At Scots, a future focused education equips each student to thrive now and, in their futures, to learn. For life.

Scots College offers dual pathway options for its senior students, delivering both NCEA and the IB Diploma, for which we are fully authorised.  We are also fully authorised for the delivery of the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.  Experience teaching any or all of these programmes would be advantageous.

Applicants should have:

  • A desire to help students with learning needs to flourish and be the best they can be
  • Willing to work closely with families and teachers to help students achieve optimal results
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management
  • A desire to foster excellence and the ability to promote learning in young people
  • The ability to manage and motivate and manage staff
  • A commitment to our special character and co-curricular programmes.

If you are motivated by the prospect of being a part of a dynamic teaching environment and would enjoy the challenges of this exciting role, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
