Educator (Mātauranga Māori – digital learning)
Waitangi Treaty Grounds are looking for an educator (Mātauranga Māori – digital learning) to support our Raranga Matihiko programme. Raranga Matihiko delivers innovative digital technologies to those with limited digital learning opportunities, while increasing access to national and local exhibitions and collections. In this role you will develop and co-facilitate meaningful learning experiences for ākonga in English medium and Māori Medium contexts through engagement with our taonga and exhibitions. For this full-time, fixed-term role (to 31 December 2021), you need to be passionate about supporting young people to engage with their history. You have considerable experience in working with children and young people, and you are enthusiastic about digital technology as a tool for students to share their learning. A level of fluency in te reo Māori, confidence in tikanga Māori and the ability & confidence to partly or fully deliver in te reo Māori is essential. A teaching qualification and recent teaching experience would be ideal but are not essential.
This could be an ideal three term long experience for a teacher secondment.
