  • Part-time, permanent – 16 hours a week 
  • 5 days per week – essential hours are 12–1.30pm, Monday–Friday, the remaining hours are negotiable. 

Who are we?

HCK have been growing young learners for over 90 years in Lower Hutt, providing quality and affordable early childhood education. Our teaching teams are passionate about providing rich learning environments where children can explore, develop and have fun.

We are a not-for-profit dedicated to making quality early childhood education accessible to all. We have 20 kindergartens throughout the Hutt Valley.  

About the kindergarten

The team at Stokes Valley Kindergarten is passionate about providing learning experiences that focus on the interests and needs of your child. The child certainly is ‘the heart of the matter’ at our kindergarten. Our well developed outdoor area with numerous gardens, is complemented by a spacious and well-resourced indoor play area. We have a strong focus on sustainability and care of the environment is emphasised through opportunities for nurturing animals, growing vegetables, tending gardens, caring for the play spaces, and observing the natural world.

The position

Due to recent government announcements of increased funding and HCK's strategic plan of staffing our kindergartens with 100% qualified and registered teachers, this kindergarten is looking for an energetic and dedicated teacher to join the team.

Applicants must hold:

  • Minimum of Dip Tch (ECE or primary) 
  • Teaching certification – provisional, subject to confirmation or full
  • Current first aid certificate.

We offer competitive pay rates, 6 weeks’ annual leave and paid professional time during term breaks.

The successful candidate would ideally commence at the start of term 2, 3 May.
