Do you want to join an organisation at the cutting edge of online education?
We're seeking a creative, innovative Y1–10 kaiako to join our southern team, based in or near Waihōpai (Invercargill). You will be the sole Waihōpai kaiako working remotely as we continue to build capacity in the Southland region.
Ideally, you will have an interest, expertise and/or experience in supporting the transition from our Y10 programme toward an NCEA learning programme. You are enthusiastic to work within an organisation that is committed to its bilingual strategy and growing within this space. Experience and/or ability in pathways/life skills education, a strong commitment to collaboration with external agencies/partners to ensure ākonga and whānau aspirations are realised and, the ability to strengthen community connections and networks, would be an advantage. Interested in authentic learning, you model current pedagogy, are always coming up with new ideas and, have a sound knowledge of the NZ Curriculum and assessment requirements. Experience working in a range of diverse and challenging contexts and thrive on being solution focused and thinking outside of the square to ensure ākonga are at the centre of what we do. You are excited by the opportunities of cross curricular collaboration and developing rich partnerships within a unique educational context.
It's an exciting time as we continue to innovate and transform the way we provide distance learning. As a predominantly online environment, we work with the latest technologies and are constantly growing in this space.
We're forward-thinking and do things a little differently, but that doesn't mean no student contact! You'll interact with students at Huinga Ako (face-to-face advisories), communicate via online tools and guide a group of students as their kaimanaaki (learning advisor).
If this sounds like an exciting opportunity, we would love to hear from you.
