Do you want to work with the latest technology?

Keen to be part of a collaborative and innovative culture?

Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (Te Kura) is New Zealand's largest school.  We provide personalised and authentic learning programmes through distance education for learners from early childhood to NCEA Level 3, including to young adult and adult learners.

Our vision is to enable our ākonga (students) to achieve their educational and personal goals, empowering them to become engaged and contributing members of their communities.

It's an exciting time at Te Kura and we are looking for an innovative and collaborative team leader to join our overseas team.

In this role you will be responsible for a teaching team that works with our New Zealand ākonga (students) at Y1–10, who are living overseas. There is a teaching component to this role so applicants must be trained teachers with current NZ registration and relevant qualifications.

Experience working with learners at primary level is required and you will need to be digitally literate and capable with technology. A good knowledge of programme planning across this age range, the Learning Progressions Framework, assessment for learning practices and integrated learning would also be desirable.

You'll have great interpersonal skills and have a proven record of managing a group of teachers, plus a track record of working positively to deliver on organisational strategic direction. You'll manage the team, assist with building a dynamic teaching and learning environment and ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and pastoral support to our ākonga.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to further develop their expertise in:

  • leadership and management, including performance and staff development
  • enabling ākonga to achieve
  • planning and assessment, and
  • effective relationship management.
