We are seeking to employ a strong and caring catholic educator, committed to our faith, to inspire, lead and grow our school, starting June 2021. 

St. Joseph’s was founded in 1884 by the Sisters of St. Joseph and is a state integrated primary school serving a multicultural roll, with room to grow.  

We are an inner-city school with space for free spirited learners to work, play and learn together.  We value each of our students’ backgrounds and identities, run small single teacher classes and strive for inclusive education. 

We have built warm and successful relationships with our neighbouring schools and enjoy the support of our parish and wider community.

 Our preferred candidate for this role will:

• Support growth of the school roll while preserving the catholic special character of the school
• Embrace learning and teaching by enquiry that enables achievement and develops independent thought, individual strengths and core curriculum competencies
• Provide guidance and insight on maintaining an innovative approach to authentic learning and current pedagogy and professional development;
• Maintain and build on the true partnerships established with our families and community
• Inspire our motivated staff
• Live our Josephite charism “serving with faith and love” together with our values of Respect, Compassion, Excellence and Honesty.

 A willingness and ability to take part in the religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school shall be a condition of appointment.  The appointee will be required to accept and recognise the responsibility to maintain and preserve the special character of our school.
