Bowen Early Childhood Education Centre is a well-established, thriving, community based childcare centre providing care and education for tamariki (6 months–5 years). We offer an innovative environment, encouraging learning and adventure for not only our tamariki, but kaiako too.

At Bowen we are always looking to grow beyond best practice, striving for excellence. We are seeking a qualified early childhood kaiako who is ready to share their passion with eagerness to learn alongside us.

This position is a 1 year fixed-term (maternity leave cover) starting June 2021, working Monday to Friday (40 hours). Hours can be negotiated for the right candidate along with start date. New graduates welcome to apply.

  • Qualified kaiako (provisionally/fully certified);
  • Confident with Te Whāriki;

  • Motivated, empathetic and passionate with a growth mind set;
  • Grounded by a personal teaching philosophy which aligns with our centre;
  • Effective communication skills; and
  • Culturally responsive, with a passion for culture.
