Orewa College is a Y7–13 school, located in a friendly, coastal community, north of Auckland. Our role currently nudges 2000 students.
We seek a passionate, creative and empathetic counsellor to join our strongly, collaborative pastoral team.
Our counsellor will have rich experience working with youth and the skills and confidence to provide meaningful support to them across the diversity of their experiences. A proven ability to engage quickly and warmly with others, including the wider school community and family/whanau, is desired, as is the ability to nurture and maintain professional relationships with external agencies who might also support our students.
The essence of the role involves coming alongside students to support their mental and emotional health needs as well as their academic, personal and social needs. Advocacy to promote student success and participation in the delivery of programmes to encourage wellbeing practices across our school are also features of this role. For the ideal candidate there may be the opportunity to be flexible with the hours

NZAC registration is essential and teacher registration preferred.
