Bizzy Bodz Early Learning Centre, in the beautiful, sunny city of Gisborne is looking for a passionate and engaging Curriculum Leader to strengthen to our awesome team of Kaiako.

As an ECE teacher you may already be successfully leading this area, or you may be looking for your first leadership opportunity that will allow your passion for our national Te Whāriki curriculum to shine!  Either way you will be welcomed into a centre that provides a warm, fun and supportive environment for all of our valued Kaiako.

The role, in a nutshell: 

Alongside teaching, some of your key areas of responsibility will include helping design a curriculum:

  • To provide a child led programme based on NZ early childhood curriculum "Te Whāriki" that supports the development of positive, resilient, confident, and connected tamariki
  • That improves learning and wellbeing outcomes for tamariki so that they may have a sense of purpose and belonging, understand who they are, know who they are connected to and know how they can participate and contribute in a way that is real to them
  • To encourage an awareness and appreciation of our country and have bi cultural perspective in all areas of the programme
  • To grow tamariki who feel safe, valued, and confident in themselves and in their learning environments to engage with and achieve in education, work, and life
  • To provide a safe and supportive learning environment for tamariki.
  • That communicates with families in an open, regular, and informative ways.

To be successful in this role:  

  • Undergraduate degree in ECE teaching practice is a minimum requirement
  • Full teacher registration from New Zealand Teachers Council
  • Knowledge of the current New Zealand early childhood curriculum
  • No convictions or cases pending for fraud, physical assault, or substance abuse (includes alcohol). (subject to Police Vet Check).
