Head teacher
- Continuing (i.e. permanent) position
- Part-time, 30 hours per week (0.8 FTE).
What you will do
The ECLC at the University of Canterbury provides high quality education and care in a safe, supportive and enriching environment for young children.
We are currently seeking a head teacher to assume overall responsibility for the effective operation of the centre. You will champion the strategic, operational and financial objectives of the centre and promote quality standards of teaching and care-giving practice.
Who you are
You will hold a Bachelor’s Degree and current New Zealand teacher registration. You will have substantial leadership experience in an EC learning environment, across all age groups. You will have the ability to develop and manage productive relationships with children and whānau and provide effective leadership to staff.
Your skills will also include:
- Advantage to be able to use te reo Māori
- A high level of knowledge in programme planning and assessment
- Knowledge of the Ministry of Education's regulations, ECE policies and procedures
- Experience in monitoring performance against prepared budgets.
