Lucknow Kindergarten and the teaching team

  • Our teaching team has developed a specialised and purposeful language that promotes self-regulation, positive self-image and deepening of learning.
  • Small whānau groups are key to relationship building with learners and their families. Storytelling is a feature of Whānau Group Time, where children engage language, literacy and numeracy as stories are created and acted
  • Our teachers listen to whānau aspirations and to child voice, in planning for positive learning outcomes for all akonga
  • Our teachers give unhurried time to respectful positive resolutions with the expectation that every child will learn from every interaction
  • Our natural environment and natural resources promote real experiences with earth care. Regular home-baking supports positive attitudes with health and nutrition, as well as a strong sense of contribution to group wellbeing
  • Our team relationships are positive, we practice open consultation and truly listen to one another
  • Our curriculum is developed in consultation with whanau and reflects Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the Kindergarten’s local area.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a philosophy that fits with our team and kindergarten
  • Be up to date with Early Childhood Education theory
  • Have a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
  • Build strong relationships, and work in collaboration with whānau and kaiako
  • Be committed to building strong, positive relationships within the wider community and outside agencies
  • Confident in using technology. 

All applicants must hold a current practising certificate (full or provisional), first aid certificate and a recognised ECE or Primary Teaching qualification.
