The director would oversee a team of experienced experts in the priority areas of STEM and you will be working in collaboration with the Pou Kōkiri in a new innovative kaupapa to design an online platform to compliment the learning and development of uri in our schools. Leading, mentoring, and overseeing a team of experts whose primary focus is to develop online and wānanga programmes that specialise in STEM. The position works in conjunction with all Ngā Kura ā Iwi schools and their Iwi partners, and in collaboration with the Pou Kōkiri. The outcome will see an innovative kaupapa to design an online platform to compliment the learning and development of Uri in schools. The overarching driver is to develop and grow an online collaboration environment (NKAI Mahi Tahi Hub) that is user friendly and kaupapa Māori driven.
Skills, knowledge, experience, and competences required for application will include:
Experience in either science or technology or engineering or mathematics programme design and teaching
Fluency in te reo Māori me ōna Tikanga
Demonstrated team management, leadership and mentoring capabilities
Solid knowledge of NZQA protocols and practices for NCEA
Expert knowledge of Te Marautanga o Aotearoa (TMoA) and NZC
Understanding of iwi partnerships and kaupapa Māori education
Proven ability to build relationships with key partners
The past experience within project management and delivering to milestones
Current date knowledge of Y1–13 New Zealand Curriculum developments
Understanding of education systems in New Zealand, and relevant education legislation
Experience, incorporating project documentation, designing, and delivering programmes projects and initiatives.
