We seek an enthusiastic and capable teacher for the position of ORS specialist teacher for 15 hours per week to support the provision of quality teaching and learning programmes to meet the needs of six ORS funded students.

The successful applicant will provide oversight for identified ORS funded students, prepare and teach individualised programmes, assist class teachers to adapt class programmes, and organise IEP meetings. Knowledge and experience of NZ Curriculum Level 1 is essential, as well as well as an understanding of current principles and practice in special education. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence using technology are needed.

Confident use of computer technology including Excel and student management systems is essential.

The position is fixed-term because and hours of work may need to be adjusted should any of these funded students leave.

Competence using computer technology is essential and previous experience working in an educational environment is desirable.
