This is an exceptional permanent and full-time opportunity; you will bring learning expertise and your bright enthusiastic personality to deliver innovative, engaging, and relevant learning experiences for diverse audiences onsite, online, and beyond our walls. You must have experience working with children (teaching experience preferred) and the ability to work with all ages.

A varied and interesting position, you will be part of a team of five learning specialists who inspire curiosity in students across all subjects and year levels. This role requires an ability to authentically deliver and develop learning programmes in te reo Māori and consideration of Te Ao Māori.

This role requires proven capability in planning, development, and delivery of learning programmes and is primarily responsible for:

  • Delivery and creation of best practice education programmes
  • Ensuring the Māori dimension (He Korahi Māori) and Pacific dimension (Teu le Vā) are embedded into education programmes
  • Creating learning focused relationship with key stakeholders and personalising the education visit to the needs of our audiences
  • Retaining our current audiences, and attracting new and more diverse ones, through dynamic education programmes and effective communication
  • Support in training, supervising and guiding guest educators, visitor hosts, volunteers and supporting members of the learning team within the museum or our communities as required
  • Strengthening our sustainability through effective and efficient practice.
