Deputy principal

Our much loved DP just been appointed to their first Principal position so we seek to appoint an inspirational, aspiring leader who has students at the heart of their practice. If you have previous success as a proactive and collaborative leader, outstanding people skills, can place the learner in the centre of all decision making and continually strive for continued improvement, then the position of deputy principal of our intermediate is for you. 

We are a rural school just an hour and a half north of Christchurch. Surrounded by rivers, surf beaches, and a beautiful natural environment, Cheviot is a wonderful place to live, work and play.

• Possess excellent communication skills
• Experience in working collaboratively both within and across schools
• Ability and experience in enacting school vision and values
• Experience in strategic planning and school review processes
• Significant change leadership experience
• Strengths across the curriculum and in pedagogy
• Competency in appraisal and developing leadership capability
• Ability to build a cohesive team
• Willingness to contribute to education outside the classroom and be involved in the corporate life of the school
• Willingness to contribute to education in the wider community
• To be an advocate for students in the area of pastoral care.
