Guidance counsellor

“We are seeking a qualified counsellor to join our busy guidance department. The ideal counsellor will be experienced in supporting vulnerable youth, and their families/whanu and able to contribute, confidently, to a strongly collaborative pastoral team.oRE

Our counsellor will have a proven ability to engage quickly and warmly with others, rich experience working with youth and the skills and confidence to provide meaningful support to young people across the diversity of their experiences.

A commitment to bi-cultural practice is essential.

The essence of the work will be coming alongside students to support their mental and emotional health needs as well as their academic, personal and social needs. The counsellor role  includes advocacy to promote student success and may also involve participation in the delivery of programmes to encourage wellbeing practices across our school.

 NZAC affiliation and a current teacher practicing certificate are a must.
