Invitation to come and lead our welcoming, positive and caring multicultural school in the heart of Riccarton  

We are searching for an inspiring, inclusive, highly visible and community minded leader. Our new Principal must be a proven teacher and leader, networker and advocate with a clear vision for future focused, modern teaching and learning. We are seeking a person who is respectful of the school’s unique multicultural make-up and is prepared to hold student achievement at the core of all that they do. 

We have great diversity of culture in our school and community with a strong commitment to upholding this.  This includes a provision for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, in whom we partner with Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education NZ. 

Our school, a member of Pūtaringamotu Kahui Ako, is centrally located in Riccarton, Christchurch. 

As an inspiring learning leader taking the school on their journey with future focused learning, we need this person to be:  

• A strategic thinker who can also be pragmatic, successfully motivate teams and grow others monitoring and evaluating progress along the way 
• A change agent, able to transform thinking, creating new possibilities 
• An educational leader who knows how to use data effectively to lift student achievement, opening up conversations exploring continual improvement in relation to teacher/leadership practices 
• A person with a desire to enhance our ESOL focus and be open to other pedagogies such as play based learning 
• A leader with the ability to communicate effectively, in a sensitive way to meet the needs of the community 
• Inclusive, visible, approachable with a great sense of humour and who enjoys excellent professional relationships 
• Up-to-date with relevant research in relation to best practice 
• Culturally responsive.

Position commences the start of term 2, 2021.
