0.5 role comprising of 0.4 teaching and 0.1 management release. This is a sole-charge middle management role with 2 days teaching composite classes of gifted learners.

We are looking for a regional lead teacher for our new MindPlus unit in the Palmerston North. MindPlus is a one-day-per-week withdrawal programme for intellectually and creatively gifted learners aged 6–13 years. We are opening a new unit in Palmerston North and we are looking for an experienced, creative, highly motivated teacher who enjoys a challenge, values and works well with difference, and can work autonomously as well as part of a local and national team.
The role is two days of teaching our specialist programme with a further half day of management release. The management release involves responsibility for all aspects of delivery, building community relationships, and exploring opportunities for growth of this unit. Experience and qualification in gifted education desirable, but applications from teachers with a high level of interest in this area and a willingness to learn will also be considered. Full registration (category one or two) and current NZ Practising Certificate essential, management experience an advantage.
The position is based at WhatBox? with a start date of as soon as possible and teaching beginning in the week beginning 8 February.
