At our centre, near the hospital, we have an opportunity for a registered teacher to work with us on a full-time basis from the hours of 9.30am–6pm in either our Toddler (2–3½) or Casa (3–6) classroom (TBC).
In our Montessori classrooms, we nurture independence by allowing children to develop and learn through exploration and sensorial experimentation. We also practice simple activities from everyday (practical life) that are exciting to children. We garden and we help to prepare food as part of our daily routines.
Most importantly, we are led by the interests of the child in whichever direction these interests might take us, and this means that our children are able to choose to work with materials that are of interest to them that involve real science, geography, literacy, art, mathematics and more... but ONLY if they are interested in it.
We want our children to be engaged and busy with their hands, and this means that our classrooms are therefore peaceful with lots of children happily concentrating.
Whilst a Montessori qualification is desirable, what is essential is that you are a registered teacher, and that you have a basic understanding of, and a willingness to learn and apply the Montessori teaching philosophy in our classrooms.
If you are a team player who is passionate about nurturing independence, respecting everyone and everything, and showing children how to perform simple daily tasks, allowing them to make safe mistakes in order to learn… then APPLY NOW!
Being privately owned, you can expect something different when you apply to work here. We are a very capable team of individuals from all walks of life – we respect and support each other, and we are continually learning.
