Our ideal centre manager will have an eye for nature and will be passionate about the learning the environment can offer. We take our children on excursions to our local park where we encourage them to discover all the
beauty nature has to offer us, plus have a lovely natural outdoor environment.

We have a strong focus on sustainability and supporting children to grow up with an appreciation of the world around them. This position involves supporting and leading a high functioning team, communicating with families, and ensuring that BestStart Gillies operates as a high-performing centre based on quality learning and genuine interactions between staff, children, and their families.

We are a friendly, supportive and fun-loving team who are passionate about children’s learning and development. We are lucky to be culturally diverse both children and teacher-wise and this means we celebrate a range of events throughout the year including Matariki, Eid, Chinese New Year and Queens Birthday to name a few!

As our successful centre manager, you will have:

  • A passion for building meaningful relationships with tamariki and their families
  • A strong belief in supporting staff morale and a positive outlook
  • A strong understanding of pedagogical strategies, to be a fountain of knowledge to others
  • Committed to bi-cultural practices and Te Tiriti O Waitangi
  • An ability to move in strategic direction
  • Bachelor/ Diploma of Education Teaching Level 7 (ECE) and current full certification.
