Part-time ECE teacher

We are looking for an experienced or begining teacher who has a positive can do attitude. A team player who shows dedication for working with children, is able to use their initiative and who is passionate about providing  high quality learning outcomes for our children. To be eligible for this teacher position you must have a NZ recognised ECE teaching qualification and have your full registration.

Teaching hours will be between 24–32 hours (3–4 days) a week, dependent on our rolls.

We are a small centre of 30 children per day, aged 2 to 6 years. 

Our session times for the children are 8.30am–2.30pm and we are closed during school holidays. 

Little Sunbeams  is founded on Christian values, alongside Te Whāriki. We teach a Christian curriculum. This means we teach positive values, include Bible stories, songs and prayers. However our doors are open to all whānau and any child may attend.

• A Christian or Embrace Christian Values  and  can promote our christian values at all times 
• Sound knowledge of Te Whāriki and The Code of Professional Responsibility
• Understanding of Tataiako 
• Understanding of the Professional Growth Cycle
• The ability to work well in a small team
• A kind and nurturing nature
• The ability to integrate respectful practice in all aspects of your teaching
• Able to use your initiative and be flexible when needed
• Experience with programme planning, learning stories and internal evaluation
• Confidence in communicating with parents and other staff members
• The ability to develop strong professional relationships with all parents/whānau.
