Blind and Low Vision Education Network NZ New Zealand (nationwide)

Registered music therapist 0.2–0.4 position

We are a school for students aged between 5 and 21 years who are blind, low vision, deaf blind and those with additional needs. 

We require a registered music therapist who:

• Has an interest and desire to work with children and young people in a special education environment
• Is a team player and has the aptitude to work in a transdisciplinary setting with therapists (eg OT, SLT), behaviour specialist, teachers and management personnel
• Preferably has knowledge of the NZ Curriculum the Individual Education Programme (IEP) process and is able to assess, plan and implement goals agreed to collaboratively with the transdisciplinary team
• Has excellent time management skills and keeps up-to-date clinical and other records
• Is prepared to work with individual students as well as small groups of students
• Has a good sense of humor and who can manage the unexpected in a professional manner with a real sense of calmness and maturity/common sense. 

The position is covered by the Support Staff in School Collective Agreement and salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
