A well established, much loved community childcare centre, licensed for 50 children with 20+ staff, The Cottage Te Kuiti is looking for a superstar to lead our team.

Responsible for the day to day running of the centre operations, leading a team of 20, marketing/property management, driving the delivery of a quality educational programme, standard of care and ensuring compliance standards are exceeded. Ensuring the financial performance of the centre, mentor and support staff, assisting them to grow & develop while achieving set objectives, goals and behaviours crucial for centre success.  

We are looking for the following attributes:

• A background in successfully building and leading great teams in programme planning, observation and assessment and self-review
• Strong administrative skills – highly organised and able to work to deadlines
• An understanding of the how a centre operates financially
• Ability to motivate others and inspire high performance
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional manner, ability to build relationships with staff, children and parents.

You will need an understanding of ECE legislation, funding, standards, policies and procedures that impact on centre operations and educational programmes. You'll show competence with Microsoft Office suites, Discover, Xero and be able to manage budgets, ratios and rosters. While a teaching qualification would be ideal, it is not essential, this role is very much focussed on the management of the centre and will be fully supported by registered teachers and supervisors.

Most of all you will be self-motivated, innovative, reflective, ready to go the extra mile, and think beyond the boundaries.   

The hours of work will be based around the centres’ hours of operation (8am–5.10pm). An attractive salary package will be offered based on the skills and experience of the successful person.
