We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate certificated teacher/kaiako join our team.

About us:

Our kindergarten provides for all children from 2–6 years of age in a mixed group setting, with access to both indoor and outdoor areas.

Teaching and learning occurs through play in our well-resourced environment.  The curriculum consists of planned, spontaneous, and child-led learning opportunities provoked and scaffolded by experienced, fully qualified teachers.

Resilience and a growth mindset is fostered through opportunities to be resourceful, try things out, support each other, express ideas, explore risk, practise regulating our emotions, and to be persistent.

Children engage in regular out-of-kindergarten learning experiences within our local community connected to our unique coastal landscape.

We are part of Central Kids Early Education, which operates 56 other kindergartens and centres across the central North Island.  

Central Kids provide access to high-quality professional development opportunities and ongoing professional support to maintain quality teaching practice.

We are party to the Kindergarten Teachers' Collective Agreement, which provides 6 weeks' annual leave, 9 days' sick leave and ample non-contact/professional time. 

About you:

• Motivated, enthusiastic, able to put current theory into practice
• Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Te Whāriki
• Able to have robust conversations and work with a team who have a strong emphasis on whakawhanaungatanga as they support each child's social and emotional growth
• Committed to creating/maintaining strong, positive relationships with whānau
• Able to demonstrate a growth mindset, be open and willing to change that enables us to continue providing high-quality early education to all tamariki who attend our service 
• Be ECE qualified and hold current certification and a current first aid certificate.
