Head teacher / kaiako matua

We are looking for a warm, passionate and experienced teacher to join our team from term 1, 2021. Part or full-time, permanent position.

We are a small Steiner centre in Lower Hutt offering morning and full day sessions (8am-4pm) for children aged 2-5 years.  We have a strong focus on providing a nurturing, peaceful and home-like environment where children are empowered to naturally develop through warm and respectful teacher-child relationships and creative play and learning.  

We are seeking someone with:

• A Level 7 early childhood qualification and current practicing certificate
• Commitment to providing high quality early childhood care and education
• The ability to lead and inspire a small team of Kaiako, including overseeing yearly appraisals, and work collaboratively alongside the centre manager
• Strong knowledge of Te Whāriki, planning and assessment, internal evaluation and early childhood regulations.
